November 20 - December 1, 2008, RetailStudio conducted an expert survey of crisis perceptions by top-managers of the Ukrainian grocery retail. The survey aimed at analysis of situation in the Ukrainian retail after the credit crunch. We decided to discover what the industry's opinion leaders think about survival strategies, and to publish the results. All respondents agreed that the crisis provides a chance to optimise business. Retail industry now needs a special organisation of decision-making in all spheres, including marketing, category management, supplier relations, HR, etc. We are conscious of the fact, that expert survey provides no quantitative information for managerial decisions. However, we decided to deliver thoughts and perceptions of the opinion leaders to the whole of the industry in order to empower the process of analysis, reacting, and adaptation in the retail industry. We believe that opinion of industry's leading companies is the best means to stimulate this process.
